Felder, Madu Named All-Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La.  – Senior cornerbacks Bobby Felder and Chika Madu of the Nicholls State University football team were named second-team All-Louisiana as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced the all-state teams on Sunday, Dec. 25.

Felder, a native of McComb, Miss., earned second-team defense for the second time in his career, while Madu garnered second-team return specialist after a record-breaking senior season. The duo was also selected first-team All-Southland earlier this year.

Felder, who earned his degree in December, leaves Nicholls ranked fourth on the program's all-time interception list with 12. In 2011, Felder picked off five passes, which was the second-highest in the state, trailing only All-American Morris Claiborne of LSU. While contributing to the Colonel special forces as a punt returner, Felder also blocked three kicks this season (two PATs, one FG).

Madu received honors as a return specialist after breaking program and conference records as a kick returner. The native of Norman, Okla., put together a historical performance against Stephen F. Austin, scoring two touchdowns while racking up 304 kick return yards. For the year, Madu finished with a Colonel single-season best 1,269 kick return yards.
