The Nicholls men's golf team finished 12th at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Tuesday

CHOUDRANT, La. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in 12th place as a team with a tournament score of 931.
The Colonels finished round three with a score of 310, six strokes ahead of New Orleans. Southland Conference member Central Arkansas won the tournament with a team score of 869.
Golfer
Andri Bjornsson led the group with another solid performance after carding a 74 in the final round for a tournament score of 223 (75-74-74). Bjornsson had two birdies on the day, with par or better on 14 holes.
Marcus Fox lowered his round in each of the three sessions over the two-day tournament, finishing Tuesday with a third round score of 76 to end the event with a total score of 233 (79-78-76) in 50th place. Fox ended with 13 holes of par or better, earning a birdie on the sixth hole.
Florentino Molina Herran finished tied for 54th with a tournament score of 235 (78-77-80), earning a birdie on the 18th hole after starting on the back nine to open the day.
Daniel Tomba and
Daniel McConnachie finished their first tournament as Colonels with scores of 244 (87-75-820 and 248 (85-83-80), respectively. Tomba finished tied for 65th, while McConnachie finished 70th, as each had one birdie on the afternoon.
The Nicholls men's golf team returns to the course on Oct. 29, participating in the Crown Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
