The Colonel 2012 recruiting class consists of 21 student-athletes
THIBODAUX – In the midst of its 2012 spring season, the Nicholls State University football program announced on Friday the addition of two recruits for the 2012 signing class as the Colonels signed quarterback
Tuskani Figaro (Lafayette HS/ Lafayette, La.) and cornerback
Dwight Storay (Glendale Community College/ California).
The Nicholls 2012 signing class now includes 21 student-athletes, with 12 being in-state signees.
Figaro (6-3, 210) joins the Colonels after prepping at Lafayette High School, where he played linebacker and quarterback. After earning all-district honors on defense in 2009, Figaro went on to garner all-state honorable mention as a quarterback in 2010. A two-time all-district honoree in football, he also played basketball for the Mighty Lions and was named all-district in 2010-11.
Storay (5-11/180) played two years at Glendale Community College after graduating from Servite High School in Anaheim, Calif. At Glendale, Storay helped lead the Gauchos to back-to-back Valley of the Sun Bowls, including a victory in 2010. Last season, he racked up 32 tackles, nine pass break ups and two interceptions. In high school, Storay was a three-year letterwinner, helping guide Servite to three Trinity League titles. Storay also lettered in track as a sprinter.
Both signees come from NFL pedigree. Figaro's father, Cedric, lettered four years at Notre Dame as a linebacker before spending seven seasons in the NFL. Storay's father, Dwight Sr., had brief stops in the NFL and Canadian Football League after playing collegiately at Utah State. In addition, Storay's mother, Michelle, was an all-american sprinter at University of Nevada Las Vegas.
