Men’s Golf Closes with Strong Second Round at Moe O’Brien

KINDER, La. –
The Nicholls State University men's golf team finished play at the Moe O'Brien Intercollegiate with another solid performance on Tuesday, as all five players finished with rounds of 75 or better to finish with a team score of 293 for a tournament score of 589.

Nicholls finished seventh in the team standings, as Houston Baptist won the tournament championship with a team score of 564.

“Overall it's not a bad start to the season, and we'll continue to tinker with the lineup as we continue to work through the year,” Nicholls golf coach James Schilling said.

Andri Bjornsson was the low number on the team as he finished tied for sixth overall with an even 72 for a final tournament score of 143 at 1-under par.

The best round of the day went to Marcus Fox who shot a 1-under par 71 to end the tournament with a score of 147 (76-71) to finish tied for 15th along with Florentino Molina Herran's 147 score after his final round of 75.

Tanner Manuel and Adrien Le Sech each finished with rounds of 75 to round out the group, with Manuel finishing with a total score of 152 to finish in a tie for 31st place and Le Sech with a score of 154 to finish in a tie for 36th place.

The Nicholls men's golf team will be back in action on Oct. 1-2, participating in the Squire Creek Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech.
