FULL RESULTS
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Nicholls State University women's track and field team claimed three top 5 finishes as the Colonels began their indoor season at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
Ashley Wheeler earned the highest finish for the Colonels in their opener, taking second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.81 meters. Nicholls also had success in the long jump with three competitors placing in the top 7.
Ky Thomas took fourth with a jump of 5.49 meters,
Sakinah Abdul-Aziz placed fifth at 5.41 meters and
Courtney Crawford was seventh at 5.37 meters.
After leading the cross country team in the fall,
Hannah Naquin started the spring with a pair of top 10 finishes. She placed eighth in the One Mile with a time of 5:30.60 and earned a ninth place in the 800 Meter with a 2:30.12.
