FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University senior golfer
Ryan O'Neil has been named the Southland Conference Men's Golfer of the Month, as announced by the league office Thursday.
O'Neil turned in two rounds under 70 for a career-best -10, 206 to claim runner-up at the HCU Colin Montgomerie Invitational. He posted a career-best round of 67 to open the event and followed with a 68 and 71. For the tournament, he totaled 13 birdies and one eagle. O'Neil had the highest finish for the Southland in the event which included HCU, UIW, A&M-Commerce, and Southeastern.
The honor was the second SLC monthly award for the Charlotte, North Carolina native after earning the same honor last March.
