FRISCO, Texas –  Nicholls State University senior pitcher Audrey McNeill has been named Southland Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the first week of the 2024 season, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

McNeill had an impressive opening week for the Colonels, posting an 0.88 ERA with three wins and 13 strikeouts in 16 innings of work. She struck out five in five innings to defeat Providence after giving up just one hit in her win over Green Bay. She allowed just eight hits for the week and tossed four hitless frames in her victory against Montana in the finale.

McNeill's lone loss came on opening night against No. 15 LSU where she gave up one earned run on four hits in 3.0 innings.

Nicholls posted a 4-1 record in the Mardi Gras Mambo and will head to Houston this weekend for the Houston Classic.
