THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team will head to Kerrville, Texas for the 2024 Southland Conference Championship, held at Comanche Trace.
Monday's opening round is set for 11 a.m. The Colonels will tee off along side of Texas A&M-Commerce for the opening 18 holes. Tuesday's action will also begin at 11 a.m., while Wednesday's final round is scheduled for 10 a.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The lineup for Monday's action will be
Chase Pochylko,
Diego Prat Cruza,
Dylan Weber,
Thomas Danielson, and
Jack Moro. Pochylko is coming off his top finish of his rookie campaign where he tied for 11th at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate. His previous best was a 12th-place finish at the LaTour Intercollegiate in the fall.
Last year, Nicholls took eighth out of 10 teams in the SLC Championship in San Antonio. Sophomore
Braxton Kuntz nearly secured a Top 10 finish by shooting a 3-over 219 to tie for 11th.
The winning team and top individual finisher at the SLC Championship will earn the Southland's automatic berth in the NCAA Championship. The last Colonel to take part was in 2017 when Albert Badosa-Soler qualified for the Baton Rouge Regional after winning medalist honors in the SLC Championship.
