Whisnant had a pair of record performances over the weekend at the Houston Indoor Invitational.  The Baton Rouge native ran the final leg of the Colonels' distance medley relay team, leading the DMR squad to a school record time of 12:12.44 to claim third in a crowded field on Friday. 

The Colonels finished less than six seconds off the winning pace of 12:07.73 set by the host Houston Cougars.  Nicholls was less than four seconds behind second place conference rival Texas-Arlington.

The Colonels bettered their previous school record of 12:15.51 set by McLeod, Whisnant, Naomi Green and Marion Chebet at the 2010 Southland Conference Indoor Championships.

Whisnant returned on Saturday by tying her own school record in the indoor mile.  The St. Michael the Archangel product clocked in at 5:05.18 in the mile, tying the school record she set at the 2010 Southland Conference Indoor Championships in Norman, Okla. last season.
