2026 Nicholls Sports Medicine

The Department of Sports Medicine at Nicholls State University, in partnership with our premier medical provider, Thibodaux Regional Health System, employs athletic trainers who are nationally certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers and licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME). Per state law, the sports medicine staff members work under the direction of our team physicians and medical director, Dr. Daniel Naul. We work closely with the team physicians, your coaching staffs, and Nicholls administration to meet all student-athletes medical needs. 
 
Mission Statement

The Nicholls State University's Sports Medicine Department will provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art health care and wellness services as it pertains to the well-being of the student-athlete. Each member of the Nicholls State University's Sports Medicine Department will do his or her part to provide professional, first-class leadership and counseling necessary to prevent, manage, and rehabilitate the student-athlete. The Nicholls State University's Sports Medicine Department strives to provide leadership in education for athletic training students through quality educational and clinical experiences. The Nicholls State University's Sports Medicine Department serves as a major intellectual and creative resource for Colonel Athletics, develops interactive partnerships with allied health professionals and participates in the exploration and development of the student-athlete's health and well-being.

To become a nationally recognized sports medicine program focusing on first-class, state-of-the-art health care services to the Nicholls State University's Athletics Department, and a respected and prominent leader with the reputation of providing quality educational experiences to athletic training students.
