In her first 3k steeplechase of the season, the defending conference champion in the event, and owner of the fifth fastest time in conference history at the start of the season, nearly broke her own school record in the event, clocking in at 10:53.89 at the prestigious Pepsi Relays for the sixth fastest time in the history of the Southland Conference … Whisnant’s mark ranks 26th in the NCAA East Region and is the top mark in the Southland Conference this season by nearly 40 seconds … Whisnant now owns two of the top six marks in conference history in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase.
