Box Score

Nachitoches, La. - The Colonels soccer team played one of their best games of the season against conference-leading Northwestern State Sunday, holding the Lady Demons to no points in the first period. But two second period goals to the Colonels one was enough for Northwestern State to hold on to the 2-1 victory in Nachitoches.

Nicholls (1-13-1, 0-4) was able to hold all-conference forward Erin Hebert without any points in the game, but two goals within five minutes of each other for Northwestern State (10-3-1, 3-0-1) was enough for the win.

The team gave up 18 total shots to the Lady Demons, but Northwestern State was unable to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes. Coming out of the break, Jessica Schwartz put the Colonels up after receiving a pass from Alicia Gautreau in the 49th minute.

Five minutes later, Chelsea Gibbs notted the score at one a piece for the Lady Demons, and in no time at all, Kayce Schultz took an already played ball and scored an unassisted goal of her own for the game winning goal for Northwestern State.

The Colonels will be back in action again Friday and Sunday against McNeese State and Lamar on Senior Day.
