The last win the Colonels were able to pull out in Southland play was a 3-1 victory September 28th at home against Southeastern. Since that time the Colonels have lost four straight, while the Lady Lions remained winless going into today's match up, but by the end of the night Southeastern would return the favor, defeating the Colonels 3-1 in Hammond.
Nicholls (8-18, 2-8) took the first set from the Lady Lions (10-12, 1-9) 30-25 only committing only five errors in the match, but the errors would start to mount by the fourth set, while Southeastern maintained a steady course throughout.
Southeastern would dominate the second and third sets over the Colonels, but with the scored tied 14-14 in the fourth set, the Lady Lions would get eight straight points en route to the 3-1 victory.
Although racking up 55 kills, the 12 in the fourth set by the Colonels would aid in the Lady Lion win. Southeastern finished the game hitting .231 while, Nicholls would finish with .132.
Kindra Halverson led the Colonels with 14 kills, followed by Enjoli Ford with 12 and Chelsea Dockrey with 10. Melissa Jones' 17 led all players in kills while Emily Jordan and Lauren Mayer both finished with double digit kills.
The Colonels will remain on the road and travel to Corpus Christi, Texas to take on the Islanders at 7 p.m on Friday and Texas-San Antonio on Saturday at 4 p.m.
