ROADRUNNERS CONTAIN COLONELS IN THREE

San Antonio, Texas - The Colonels volleyball team played valiantly against the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, but UTSA would get a much more combined team effort and would only need three sets to defeat Nicholls Saturday afternoon in San Antonio. The win gives the Roadrunners their third in five days and the Colonels their ninth loss in a row.

Three players finished in double digit kills for UTSA (12-17, 4-8) to only one for Nicholls (8-20, 2-10). Victoria Prior finished with 15 kills to lead all players, followed by Valorie Rogers with 13 and Kendra Rowland with 12. Kindra Halverson finished with 10 for the Colonels.

Nicholls would have a five-point lead in the second set, but allowed the Roadrunners to catch up and overtake them fo rthe eventual win.

The Colonels would not go past hitting over .111 as a team, while the Roadrunners would hit over. 300 twice in the match. UTSA would finish with a .282 percentage to the Colonels .084.

Nicholls will be back in action again next weekend for the last two home matches of the season against Texas State and Texas-Arlington.
