Hammond, La. -
After earning a 4-1 win over Lamar last Sunday, the Nicholls State soccer team was looking to get a win over a struggling Southeastern club Sunday afternoon, but three goals by one Lady Lion player in the game was enough for Southeastern to remain undefeated at home in conference with a 3-1 win.
Senior Jessica Schwartz scored the lone goal for the Colonels (2-15-1, 1-6) as the team was only able to get four shots in the entire game, to the Lady Lions (9-4-3, 4-2-1) 22.
Neither team scored in the first period of the game, with all four of the game's goals coming in the second. After Kristin McDonald scored in the 49th minute, Schwartz scored her goal in the 56th with the help of Kaity Mattsson.
McDonald would not be quieted for long where in the 70th minute, she would score again to put Southeastern back up by one. McDonald would put the game away in the 76th minute scoring her third goal of the game.
The Colonels will close out the 2007 season on the road against Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin.
