THIBODAUX, La. - Dropping a three-set match to Central Arkansas a day earlier, the Colonels volleyball team looked to rebound against a Northwestern State Lady Demons team that only had one Southland win going into their match Saturday afternoon. After taking the first two sets, Nicholls would only need one more win to close out the victory, but an epic comeback from the Lady Demons would force five sets, eventually capping that run with a 3-2 conference road victory.

Unlike the day before, the Colonels (8-13, 2-3) had three players with double-digit kills, led by Chelsea Dockrey and Kindra Halverson's 14, but Yelena Enwere's 18 paced the Lady Demons (6-9, 2-4) in the later sets along with Ariane Damasio's 11.

Nicholls had 20 more kills against Northwestern St., but finished the game with 42 errors for a combined .100 hitting percentage. Northwestern St. who had not hit above .100 percent in the match, finished the last two sets .238 and .143.

Where the tide turned for both teams was in the third set, where after the Colonels had a five point lead, allowed the Lady Demons to make a comeback and after it would go back and forth between both both teams, Northwestern St. would put the clamp on the victory and win 30-26.

Northwestern would dominate the fourth, sending the game to a fifth, a first for the Colonel team this year. With emotions running high on both sides, the final points would be back and forth with the Colonels leading by two at one point. But the Lady Demons momentum gained from the last two sets put the Lady Demons over the top.

Nicholls will be in action again next weekend traveling to Beaumont, Texas to face the Lamar Cardinals at 7:30 p.m.
