The Nicholls State volleyball team closed out the 2007 season falling to Central Arkansas Friday night 3-0 and Northwestern State 3-1 today to finish 8-24 and 2-14 in Southland Conference play.
The Colonels took the first set against the Lady Demons, who were looking to earn a sixth place seed in next week's conference tournament, but the past repeated itself when Nicholls had chances to pull out another set victory but allowed the Lady Demons to come back and take the final three set victory.
Chelsey Adams had her best game as a Colonel, finishing with 16 kills on the night, followed by Rachel Spreen's 11. The Lady Demons had four players finish in double digit kills and as a team hit .249.
Against the Sugar Bears, the Colonels had no players hit in double figures and finished the game with 27 errors to only 30 kills and hit .025 as a team. UCA didn't do that much better than the Colonels, hitting only .152, but Camilla Scapini finished with 10 kills to pace the Sugar Bears three set victory.
Today's game against the Lady Demons marked the final collegiate game for seniors Kindra Halverson, Casey Wirwille and Aaliyah Muhammad.
