Junior forward Ryan Bathie was selected to represent Australia in the 2007 World University Games that is going to be held in Bangkok this August.
"This is a great honor for Ryan to represent his country and Nicholls," said head coach J.P. Piper. "All of us are very excited for him, and wish him the best of luck when he suites up for Australia in the major international event."
The Melton South, Australia native was selected to play in the tournament by Team Australia's head coach Bruce Palmer and assistant coach Paul Mesecke. Bathie made a school record 86 shots from downtown on a school milestone 230 attempts from behind the arc.
Bathie was the only Colonel last season to start all 30 games for Nicholls on the hardwood, and finished his sophomore campaign third on the team with 131 field goals made, third on the team in rebounds with 135, third on the team with 77 assists and third on the team with a 12.5 average a game. He also led the team in blocks with 17.
