COLONELS FINISH SIXTH AT TROY UNIVERSITY INVITATIONAL

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Junior James Terrebonne (227, T20) fired a 75 on the final day of the Troy University Invitational at Lagoon Park to lead Nicholls State University to a sixth place finish.

Round one leader University of New Orleans (885) held on to the top spot after shooting a 300 to capture the team championship, while tournament host, Troy, finished second after posting an 891. Liberty University finished in third with an 892, while Austin Peay State University (899) and Samford University (912) round out the top five. Nicholls State shot a 919 to capture sixth place, while Birmingham Southern (933), Southland Conference foe McNeese State (939) and Jackson State (944) round out the remaining tournament field.

After trailing by one shot after day, UNO's Jose Toledo (211) fired a one-under par 71 to claim the individual championship, while round one leader Michael McGrady of Troy finished second with a 213.

Other Colonel golfers include Marty Reed (229 - T20), Parham Booker (231 - T27), Jacob Lejeune (232 - T30) and Clay Shovan (241 - T46). Sophomore transfer Ebenhaezer Van der Walt finished tied for 46 after posting a 241 as an individualist.

Nicholls will take a week off before traveling to Lake Charles, La. to participate in the McNeese State Moe O'Brien at Gray Plantation on September 24-25.
