THIBODAUX, La. - Katherine Plummer recorded her fifth-straight 20+ point game, pouring in 29, as the Lady Colonels topped the Lady Demons 78-64 Thursday night at Stopher Gym.

Nicholls (5-12, 3-3) shot 45.6% from the floor, led by Plummer and Christie Bryant who each sank six buckets.

The Lady Colonels were down 37-36 heading into halftime, but Maggie Green came out firing in the second half, dropping in three-straight treys. She finished the game with 13 points, as did Bryant, as Nicholls shot 50.0% from beyond the arc in the contest.

Boosted by Green's beyond-the-arc shooting, the Lady Colonels used a 13-2 run over a five-minute span near the start of the second have to take a 54-42 lead. Nicholls never looked back and did not allow the Lady Demons to get any closer than 12 points from the lead for the remainder of the game.

Plummer was once again impressive from the free throw line, knocking down 16-of-19 shots from the stripe, and managed her first double-double of the season, pulling down 12 boards, including nine on the defensive end.

For Northwestern State, Tena Matthews tallied a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and netting 14 points. Matthews poured in six buckets, but was held to just 1-of-5 from the line.

The Lady Demons were on fire in the first half, shooting 83.3% from three-point range (5-of-6), but were held to just 3-of-11 from beyond the arc in the second frame.

The win marks the second straight for the Lady Colonels who have an in-conference streak going as they head to Central Arkansas on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip with the Sugar Bears.
