THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels got a pair of goals off of penalty kicks, but Northwestern State's five first-half goals were too much to overcome as Nicholls fell 7-2 to the Demons Sunday afternoon at the Colonel Soccer Complex.

Five different players posted goals for Northwestern State, including braces (two goals) from Chelsey Gibbs and Kayce Schultz.

Freshman Sarah Damen (Houma, La./Terrebonne) got the start for Nicholls in goal, playing the first 45 minutes. She allowed five goals and made four saves. In the second half, freshman Lana Ashford (Baton Rouge, La./Tara) allowed two goals and made four saves for the Colonels.

Nicholls will travel to McNeese State and Lamar next weekend before returning home for the final game of the season Nov. 2 vs. Southeastern Louisiana.
