NICHOLLS FINISHES SEVENTH IN LDR INVESTMENTS LADY COLONEL COLLEGIATE

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - The Colonels posted a 628 (309, 319) two-round total to finish seventh as a team, and true freshman Brooke Braun led the team with a 152 by firing back-to-back scores of 76.

Braun finished sixth among the field, and was followed by sophomore Elyse Kinley tied for 28th place with a 160 (79, 81). True freshmen Natalie McLane and Sofia Joensson each posted a 161 total with Mclane (82, 79) improving three strokes while Joensson (78, 83) was five shots better in Round 1.

Mclane and Joensson finished tied for 32nd. Senior Theunette Van der Walt posted a 171 (76, 95) over the two days, finishing 50th. Senior Emiley Patton, playing as an individual, shot a 167 (84, 83) to finish 38th overall.

"We had a great tournament. The Bridges Golf Club was in excellent shape, and the teams really enjoyed themselves," said Head Coach James Schilling.

McNeese State won the tournament by posting a 597 (302, 295) between the two rounds. The Cowgirls' Laci McKinley and Maggie Welch entered a playoff with Samford's Sara Hunt as each lay tied with a two-round total of 146. After all three pared the first hole, McKinley won the playoff on the second with a birdie.
