PLUMMER POURS IN 26; LADY COLONELS FALL 74-53 AT TEXAS A&M-CORPUS CHRISTI

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Despite yet another 20+ point game from senior Katherine Plummer, the Lady Colonel basketball team dropped a 74-53 decision at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Thursday night at the American Bank Center.

With the win, the Islanders improve to 8-14 (5-4 SLC), while the Lady Colonels drop to 5-16 (3-7 SLC).

Plummer went three-for-three from beyond the arc, adding a perfect seven-of-seven performance from the free throw line as she poured in 26 points. The tally marks the ninth 20+ point showing of the season for Plummer. The 5-4 guard grabbed four steals and dished out one assist on the evening.

Tiffany Lewis and Maggie Green also provided buckets from three-point land, pouring in one a-piece in the contest. Lewis led the squad with four assists.

On the boards, Funaki Kefu and Dominique Washington each pulled down nine rebounds. Washington also dished out two assists, while Kefu poured in eight points.

Nicholls scored just 22 points in the first half, finding themselves down by 20 heading into the lockerroom at halftime.

The Lady Colonels made just 17 of their 58 attempted baskets from the floor for 29.3% shooting.

The road trip continues for Nicholls as they travel to Texas-San Antonio for a 2 p.m. match-up with the Lady Roadrunners.
