Despite the return of several players who were previously injured, the Lady Colonels dropped a 63-56 decision at Southeastern Louisiana Saturday afternoon.
The loss is the sixth-straight for Nicholls, who falls to 5-18, 3-9 SLC on the season. The Lady Lions improved to 11-14, 5-7 SLC.
Katherine Plummer poured in a team-high 16 points for the Colonels, but was held to no rebounds in the contest. Two other Lady Colonels, Nikina Hill and Christie Bryant, each reached double-digit points. Nill netted 13, while Bryant added 11.
Southeastern's Kristy Carlin led the Lady Lions, tallying a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Carlin was 8-of-15 from the floor, while dishing out three assits.
The Lady Lions held a five-point halftime lead, 26-21 and took the lead to nine right out of the gate in the second half.
Nicholls was impressive from beyond the arc, shooting 44.4% (4-of-9), led by Hill's perfect 2-for-2 shooting.
Plummer and Hill each dished out four assists, while Funaki Kefu and Hill each had two steals.
Kefu led the Lady Colonels on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds, four on the offensive end.
Nicholls returns to the road on Thursday, traveling to Nachitoches to face Northwestern State in a 6:30 p.m. contest.
