JACKSON, Miss. - Nicholls' women's tennis team defeated Jackson State 7-0 Sunday. The Lady Colonels improve to 5-0 on the season.

For the doubles point, the Lady Colonels swept all three matches. Florina Nosca/Melissa Harrison defeated Paulina Vargas/Valentina Prado 8-3 at No. 1, while Anne-Claire Murier/Natalia Zamora took the No. 2 match from Angela Rose/Darel Smith 8-2 at No. 2. Sanja Stanojcic/Sumana Kalayanasundram swept their No. 3 match 8-0 over Geneva Warren/Dainela Pimental.

In singles action, Nosca took the No. 1 match 6-4, 7-6 (4) from Vargas, with Murier claiming No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0 from Warren. The No. 3 match went to Harrison who defeated Rose 6-2, 1-6, 7-5. At No. 4, Stanojcic beat Smith 6-1, 6-1, while Kalyanasundram defeated Prado 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 5 match. In No. 6 singles, Nicole September defeated Pimental 6-0, 6-0.
