SHREVEPORT, La. - The Nicholls tennis squads swept Tuesday's matches at Grambling State, with the men claiming a 6-0 victory and the women winning 5-0.

In the men's match, Radu Ionescu took the No. 1 contest 6-1, 6-4. Vlad Popa captured a No. 2 win 6-1, 6-0, while Eric Fisher won No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0. At No. 4, Phenyo Matong won 6-2, 6-2, with Sami Mouline winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. Chris Hernandez took the No. 6 match 6-1, 6-0.

The Colonels improve to 6-0 on the season.

On the women's side, Florina Nosca won the No. 1 match 6-1, 6-0, while Anne-Claire Murier took the No. 2 match 6-3, 6-1. At No. 3, Natalia Zamora won 6-0, 6-2. Melissa Harrison claimed a 6-3, 7-5 No. 4 victory, with Sumana Kalyanasundram winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. Sanja Stanojcic's No. 5 match was unfinished.

The Lady Colonels are now 2-0.

No doubles were played in the matches.

The women will host Louisiana Tech on Friday at 1:30 p.m., while the men will play Florida A&M on Saturday at 11 a.m.
