MEN'S GOLF EARNS 15TH PLACE FINISH

ONEONTA, Ala. - The Nicholls men's golf team started off its spring season by finishing 15th after shooting a 935 (306-312-317) during the 54 hole Samford Intercollegiate held at the 6,987 par 72 Limestone Golf Course.

Leading the way for the Colonels was freshman Parham Booker who finished tied for 32nd after firing a 225 (75-75-75). Other Colonel golfers included junior Marty Reed (T63-235), freshman Jacob Lejeune (T68-237), junior James Terrebonne (73rd-240) and sophomore Robbie Ocmond (T74-241).

The University of New Orleans won the event after firing an 860 (289-288-283), while the rest of the field of 16 consisted of Eastern Kentucky (863), University of West Florida (867), USC Upstate (868), tournament host Samford University (876), Murray State (876), Troy University (892), Illinois State (893), Austin Peay (906), Tennessee-Martin (907), Winthrop University (908), Lipscomb University (918), Tennessee Tech (920), Tennessee State (934), Nicholls (935), Southern Illinois (945) and Morehead State (945).

Josh Gallman of USC Upstate won the medalist honors by shooting an eight-under par 208 (69-71-68), while Hector Arias of New Orleans, Trey Bowling of Eastern Kentucky and Tobias Rosendahl of West Florida finished tied for second with a 210.

The Nicholls golf team will continue its season next week when it travels to Gadsden, Ala., to participate in the Grub Mart Intercollegiate held at Silver Lakes Golf Course.
