THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonel men's tennis squad evened it's league mark Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 defeat of Texas-San Antonio at the Nicholls Tennis Courts.

Nicholls improves to 8-5 (2-1 SLC) on the season.

The Colonels claimed the doubles point, taking the Nos. 2 & 3 matches. Eric Fisher/Phenyo Matong defeated Rodrigo Morgado/Andre Moreira 8-6 at No. 2 and Sami Mouline/Chris Hernandez won 8-6 over Max Stratmann/Daniel Moreiras in the No. 3 match.

Vlad Popa/Radu Ionescu fell 8-3 to Robin Fernandes/Adam Becker in the No. 1 doubles match.

In singles action, the Colonels took the top three matches from the Roadrunners.

Ionescu defeated Fernandes 7-6, 5-7, 7-6 in the No. 1 match. Fisher won 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 2 over Morgado and Popa claimed a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Stratmann at No. 3.

Nicholls dropped the final three singles matches as Matong fell 7-6, 6-3 to Becker at No. 4. Alex Gasca-Silav dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 5 to Moreira and, in the No. 6 match, Mouline fell 6-0, 6-0 to Moreiras.

The Colonels will travel to Baton Rouge on Sunday to face Southern University in a 1:30 p.m. match.
