NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Privateers drove four homeruns out of Maestri Field Tuesday night to blast their way to a 11-1 seven-inning victory over the Colonels. Nicholls falls to 5-21 on the season, while New Orleans improves to 17-9.

Matt Brown (2-1) picked up the win for UNO striking out two through two innings of hitless baseball.

Drew Erwin, who falls to 1-2 on the season, took the loss for the Colonels, giving up eight runs on seven hits (four homeruns). Erwin struck out one Privateer batter and walked one.

Ryan Cheramie pitched two innings of one-hit relief for Nicholls, also recording a strike out.

In the Colonel half of the third inning, Brett Cook led off with an infield single and reached third on an error by the Privateers. The next batter, T.J. Menerey, drove Cook in with an infield single of his own.

Cook and first baseman Brandt Boudreaux each went 2-for-3 for Nicholls. Menerey was 1-for-2 with the RBI.

In the seventh, Corey Arceneaux drove a pinch-hit single through the left side of the infield, giving the Colonels a much-needed baserunner, but was left stranded.

The Privateers' Joey Butler went 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored, driving two homeruns to left field. Johnny Giavotella and Jeff Lanning also homered for UNO.
