The Lady Colonel tennis squad (13-7) dropped the final Southland Conference matches of the season this past weekend, falling 4-3 at Texas State and 5-2 at Texas-Arlington.
In Saturday's match, Nicholls captured the doubles point. Anne-Claire Murier/Sanja Stanojcic claimed an 8-5 victory over A. Ellis/L. Chafitz at No. 2 and Sumana Kalyanasundram/Natalia Zomora defeated A. Gulida/M. Farmer 8-5 in the No. 3 match.
In No. 1 doubles, Florina Nosca/Nicole September fell 8-4 to A. Giraldo/R. Hartmann.
In singles action, Nosca captured a No. 1 victory 6-3, 6-3 over Giraldo and September won the No. 6 match, defeating S. Muller 7-6 (7), 6-2.
At No. 2 singles, Murier fell 6-2, 6-2 to Hartman. Zomora dropped the No. 3 match 6-4, 6-3 to Ellis, while Stanojcic lost 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 to Chafitz in the No. 4 slot. Kalyanasundram fell 6-3, 6-2 to Gulida in the No. 5 match.
On Sunday, Texas-Arlington claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
Nosca/September fell 8-0 to M. Hadugeroua/K. Jagosoua at No. 1 and Murier/Stanojcic dropped the No. 2 match 8-3 to S. Pesic/D. Negreanu. Kalyanasundram/Zomora won the No. 3 doubles slot by default.
Nicholls got singles wins at No. 5 (Kalyanasundram def. N. Bodiford 6-0, 6-0) and No. 6 (September by default).
At No. 1 singles, Nosca fell 6-3, 6-0 to Hadugeroua and Murier dropped the No. 2 match 6-2, 7-6 to Jagosoua. The No. 3 match went to Negreanu 6-1, 6-2 over Zomora, while Stanojcic fell 6-2, 6-3 to Pesic at No. 4.
The Lady Colonels will finish out the season Wednesday at Alcorn State.
