MOBILE, Ala. - In the final game of the South Alabama Soccer Tournament, Mississippi State defeated Nicholls 8-0 to claim the tournament championship. With the loss, the Colonels fall to 2-4 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-3.

Three different Bulldogs scored two goals each as Kevyn Shelledy, Katelyn Graben and Taylor Turnipseed each bagged braces on the day.

Goalkeepers Molly Mersereau and Sarah Damen each saw a half in the net for Nicholls, as Mersereau allowed five goals and logged seven saves and Damen gave up three goals and posted one save.

The Colonels will return to action next weekend, traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Arkansas Razorback Classic. Nicholls will face Missouri State and host-Arkansas in the two-day tournament.
