NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Ladyjacks proved too much for the Nicholls State University women's soccer team (4-9-0, 0-2-0 Southland Conference) on Friday night as Stephen F. Austin (6-6-0, 3-0-0 Southland) stayed undfeated in conference play by handing the Colonels an 8-1 setback on Friday night.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Molly Merserau once again played well against a barrage of opponent chances. The Riverside, Calif. native recorded eight saves, but SFA generated 24 shots, 20 of which were on goal. It was Merserau's fifth match of the season with eight or more saves.

Freshman forward Jessica Herradon provided another bright spot for Nicholls, finding the back of the net for the fourth time this season for the Colonels' lone goal.

Unfortunately, Herradon's strike (which came with just under 20 minutes left in the game) proved to be too little, too late.

The Ladyjacks took a 4-0 lead into halftime before adding four more in the second. Seven different SFA players found the goal column with Laura Sadler leading the way with a pair of goals.

The Colonels will return to action on Sunday when they head to Sam Houston State for their final game in Texas on the season. Kickoff between the Colonels and Bearkats is set for 1:00 p.m. in Huntsville, Texas.
