Junior Parham Booker fired a two-over par 74 and finished tied for 21st by posting a 54-hole total of 221 (72-75-74) as the Colonels closed out their fall season in the final round of the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate held at the par 72, 7,104 yard Carter Plantation Golf Course.
Zach Fischer Of Texas-San Antonio, trailed by two shots following the first round, fired a five-under par 67 during the final round to claim the individual honors. Fischer finished the tournament with a seven-under par 209. Round leader Andrew Noto fell to second place after shooting one-under par 71 in the final round and a 211 overall. Ken Looper of New Orleans also finished with a 54-hole total of 211, including a final round of four-under par 68 to tie for second place.
Louisiana-Lafayette trailed by one shot heading into the final round but prevailed as the tournament winner by posting a final round of two-over par 290 and a total of 870, while round leader Rice university claimed second by posting a final round of 292 and a 54-hole total of 871.Central Arkansas and New Orleans each finished with a 872 to claimed third, while the rest of the field of 13 consisted of Texas-Arlington (875), Sam Houston State (892), Arkansas State (892), Jacksonville State (898), Stephen F. Austin (903), Louisiana-Monroe (906), McNeese State (926) and Nicholls (936).
Other Colonel golfers included junior Lohan Kotze (58th/235/79-77-79), sophomore Gavin Miles (T69/241/79-81-81), semior Ebenhaezer Van der Walt (T69/241/82-80-79) and true freshman William Dearmon (73rd/246/83-84-79).
The Colonels will take the remaining of the fall semester off and hit the links again in February.
