Nicholls women's basketball suffered a 76-53 defeat to the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Monday evening in the Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
The Colonels (2-9) had two players in double figures with junior Ricshanda Bickham leading the way with 18 points. Following Bickham was true freshman Alisha Allen with 17 and a career best three blocks.
The Warhawks (6-6) had three players with double digit points that included Sannisha Williams and Jesse Carrier tied atop with a team best 19. Williams also had a double-double in the game with 11 rebounds.
Nicholls never once held a lead in the defeat, while Louisiana-Monroe led by as many as 31 points in the second half. The Warhawks also produced more bench points, out-scoring the Colonels 23-to-2 in the win.
The Colonels will try their luck against Jackson State on Wednesday night in Stopher Gym. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
