Final Stats

THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls men's tennis team fell to Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday afternoon at the Colonel Tennis Complex, 5-2.

The Colonels (2-3) were without injured senior Vlad Popa, and it showed as Nicholls picked up the loss. Nicholls won the doubles point as the duo of sophomore Radu Ionescu and senior Abhaya Prakish defeated ULL's Bradley Bristow and Neil Schneider 8-4, and with juniors Phenyo Matong and Eric Fisher taking down Piotr Banas and Yanick Mandl, 8-2

However, the Ragin Cajuns (3-0) bounced back in singles play, winning all but one match against Nicholls. The only singles match that the Colonels prevailed in was Prakish's with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Bristow at the No.3 spot in the lineup.

Fisher fought back from being down 6-3 to Javier Pulgar-Garcia in No.2 singles to bring the second set to a tie breaker scenario, but got an unlucky bounce to fall 6-3, 7-5.

Nicholls will be back in action on Monday at conference power Texas-San Antonio.
