Final Stats

THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls lost its conference opening match to UTSA, 6-1, on Sunday, but bounced back against non-conference Incarnate Wood, picking up a 6-2 victory on Monday in San Antonio.

In the first match against UTSA (3-7, 1-0), the Colonels (3-5, 0-1) managed only one singles win as senior Abhaya Prakish defeated Pedro Zanotelli 7-6 (7-5), 6-1. Juniors Eric Fisher and Phenyo Matong each forced three sets, but fell in the third in their matches.

Nicholls bounced back against NAIA Incarnate Wood (3-2) with a 6-2 victory on Monday. In the win, Nicholls won the doubles point via a huge win in No.3 doubles by the duo of sophomores Sami Mouline and Rohan Shetty. The tandem defeated David Ballinger and Stephen Cavazous 8-3.

In singles, Nicholls prevailed in every match with the exception of one to get the 6-2 victory.
