THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls led 34-31 at halftime, but Stephen F. Austin found its groove in the second half to get the 60-55 win on Wednesday night.

Nicholls had three players score in double digits in the loss with senior Tiffany Jones leading the way with 16 before fouling out late in the game. Others crossing the decade mark were senior Christie Bryant with 11 and true freshman Nadia Cox with 10. True freshman Danielle Douglas did not cross the 10-point plateau, but did record a career high in rebounds with 10 in the loss.

Stephen F. Austin was led by Whitney Cormier with 20 points and nine rebounds. Antoinette Davis followed with 14 points. No other Lady Jack scored in double figures.

The Colonels (0-19, 0-8) held a halftime lead, 34-31, for the first time all season, and did so on shooting 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the floor. Nicholls also put forth 26 of its 34 first half points in the paint despite turning over the ball 17 times. The Colonels also out-rebounded the Lady Jacks 17-to-14 in the first half to aid its lead.

However, the Lady Jacks (10-10, 5-3) opened up the second half on a 6-0 run to regain the lead. Both teams would trade lead changes until the final three minutes when Stephen F. Austin's Ebony Alexander hit a 3-pointer from the corner to gain the 52-48 lead with 3:26 left. The Lady Jacks never relinquished the lead, and went on to win.

Stephen F. Austin shot 36.2 percent (21-of-58) for the game from the floor compared to Nicholls 43.6 percent (24-of-55). The difference in the game came from the free throw line as SFA made 16-of-23 attempts while the Colonels made 6-of-9 from the charity strip.

Nicholls will be back in action this Saturday at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and Stephen F. Austin will be at Lamar. Nicholls will tip-off at 7 p.m. in Corpus Christi, Texas.
