Nicholls ended its week long road swing with an 84-57 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night in the American Bank Center.
The Colonels (0-20, 0-9) were led by senior Christie Bryant with 13 points and four rebounds, while true freshman Jasmine Hoskins was the only other player crossing the 10-point mark with 12 for Nicholls.
The Islanders (9-12, 4-4) had all five of their starters score in double figures with Jade Davis leading the squad with 16. Adrienne Scott finished with a double-double, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds.
As a team, Nicholls was 17 points better in the second half, but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi stayed on pace with 49 second half points. TAMUCC shot 55.4 percent (36-of-65) from the field for the game, and an impressive 67.9 percent (19-of-28) in the second half. Nicholls shot 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from field goal range in the loss.
The Colonels will resume play at home on Wednesday against Sam Houston State. Tip-off is set 6:30 p.m.
