NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Nicholls recorded seven basehits, but couldn't bring a run around as the Colonels fell 11-0 to Stephen F. Austin Saturday in the second game of a three-game series with the Lumberjacks.

Senior Josh Swenson (Applevalley, Minn./North Iowa Area CC) and junior Jason Dennis (Mobile, Ala./Alabama Southern CC) each turned in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, accounting for four of the Colonels seven hits on the day.

Stephen F. Austin scored two in the third after a lead-off walk by Gabriel Garcia-Serrano came back to haunt Nicholls. Garcia-Serrano stole second and and later scored on a sac fly. Sean Meyers then homered to right field, giving the Jacks a 2-0 lead.

After adding another run in the fourth and two more in the sixth, the Lumberjack bats came alive with six runs in the seventh to give SFA an 11-0 advantage and the win in the game.

Lefty Jarret Dunnam (Saraland, Ala./Alabama Southern CC) went 5.0 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits. The junior fanned two and issued three walks as he falls to 2-3 on the year.

For SFA, Erich Lehmann threw 7.0 innings of shut-out baseball, striking out six Colonels on the day.

The Colonels will attempt to avoid the sweep Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
