Final Stats

BEAUMONT, Texas - Nicholls men's tennis ended its regular season with a 7-0 loss to nationally ranked Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, but will live to play another day in the Southland Conference Tournament starting this Friday.

Nicholls (11-9, 1-5) secured the No.6 seed in the tournament to be held at Corpus Christi, Texas, and will square off against No.3 seeded UTSA (8-12, 3-2) on Friday at 9:30 a.m.

In the match against the Islanders held in Beaumont, Texas, the Colonels doubles duo of senior Abhaya Prakash and sophomore Radu Ionescu won No.1 doubles. The tag team took down nationally ranked Islander pairing Dmitry Novikov and Mikhail Pavlov 8-6, but it proved to be the only victory for the Colonels.

Forcing three sets in singles were Ionescu and juniors Eric Fisher and Phenyo Matong, but could not capitalize for the win in the third set.
