The Roadrunners broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 12th, scoring five runs on four hits and three Colonel errors. Marshal Davis, who went 3-for-6 on the day, knocked an RBI single to right center that brought in two runs and got the scoring started for UTSA.

Nicholls answered with three of their own in the bottom half of the sixth on a trio of RBI singles from Adam Miley (Baton Rouge, La./Bosier Parish CC), Jacob Knight (Thibodaux, La./E.D. White Catholic) and Brady Bourque (Gonzales, La./LSU-Eunice), knotting the game at 4-all.

The game remained a tie until UTSA's five-run 12th put the Roadrunners on top for good.

Scott Moseley (Enterprise, Miss./Meridian CC) went 4-for-5 at the plate for Nicholls, scoring twice. Miley, the only other Colonel to turn in a multi-hit performance, went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Colonels finished with 11 hits on the day to UTSA's 13.

Nicholls will attempt to salvage the series on Sunday with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
