Final Stats

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team kept its winning ways going, picking up its fourth consecutive victory with a 4-3 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Monday afternoon.

The Colonels (4-1) started off the match by winning the doubles point with all three matches swaying in favor of Nicholls with the duo of senior Phenyo Matong and sophomore Dmitry Kozinov prevailed in the definitive match in doubles with an 8-7 win.

Louisiana-Lafayette bounced back in doubles play, laying claim to the first three matches in the lineup with junior Radu Ionescu and senior Vlad Popa falling in hard fought three sets.

It was the bottom of the lineup that secured the win with junior Eric Fisher, Kozinoz and sophomore Roy Knight getting key wins in single play.

Kinght still remains undefeated in singles play on the season.
