Final Stats

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Nicholls State University softball team fell at No. 13 LSU 7-0 on Tuesday evening in Tiger Park.

The Colonels (14-9) only managed two hits on the night, and only advanced one runner past second base in the game. Putting forth the two hits were sophomores Megan Gaspard and Mandy Granger, each finishing 1-for-2.

Despite Nicholls offensive struggles, The Tigers (27-4) only led 1-0 through three and a half innings before LSU scored six runs over the next three innings to take the 7-0 win.

Taking the loss for the Colonels in the circle was junior Carlee Winkelmann as she fell to 3-3 on the season. Winkelmann tossed 3.0 innings, giving up one run on four hits. Also getting some reps in the circle were freshman Ashton Bennett and senior Lacey Gros.
