Final Stats

THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University women's tennis team battled with Stephen F. Austin on Sunday afternoon, and got a 4-3 victory over the Lumberjacks in the Colonel Tennis Complex.

The Colonels (9-7, 4-6 Southland) went ahead early in the match, winning the doubles point before breaking off into playing singles.

Helping secure the doubles point were the doubles duo of senior Sanja Stanojcic and sophomore Sumana Kalyanasundarm as the two won in No. 3 doubles to give Nicholls the early 1-0 lead.

With the doubles point already in hand, Nicholls only needed three victories in singles play and got them from juniors Florina Nosca and Natalia Zamora, and Stanojcic.

Nicholls will be back in action on Friday against Central Arkansas.
