Jackie White and Kryshell Rolle each set new school records at the McNeese Indoor meet on Friday

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Nicholls State University women's track and field team kicked off the 2013 season in big fashion on Friday night, taking home three individual titles and setting some new program records at the McNeese Indoor I meet in Lake Charles.
Jackie White and
Kryshell Rolle each set new personal and program best marks on the day, as White won the 600-meter run in 1:38.02, while Rolle finished second in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.22 seconds.
Including White, there were three individual title winners on the day, as
Ashley Johnson took home the 800-meter run title with a time of 2:24.86 and
Tessni Carruthers won the 3000-meter run with her time of 10:34.11.
Quadri Newson earned a top five finish in the 200-meter dash, finishing fourth in 26.63 seconds, while
Emily Charlesworth finished eighth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:12.40 and
Victoria Williams finished tenth in the 800-meter event with her time of 2:40.
The last top three finish for the Colonels came in the relays, as Nicholls took home a third place finish in the women's 4x400-meter relay, finishing in 3:59.28.
The Colonels will be back in action next Friday, participating in the ASU Invitational hosted by Arkansas State University.
