Jaimee Springer earned her second javelin title of the outdoor season on Saturday, placing first in the event to pace the Colonels women's track and field team on the final day of the LSU Tiger Relays in Baton Rouge.
On her second to last toss of the event, the Canada native had a throw of 146 feet, ten inches in the finals to claim the top spot over LSU's Doren Welch, as Springer had three throws that traveled over 44 meters on the day. Senior
Aja Scott finished fifth in the javelin, with her best throw spanning 142 feet, three inches.
After earning a new school record on Friday in the 1500-meters,
Jackie White followed that performance with a new personal best time in the 800-meter run, finishing fourth in two minutes, 11.85 seconds, while
Tessni Carruthers finished eighth overall and also set a new personal best time with her finish in two minutes, 15.92 seconds.
Kryshell Rolle had two top ten finishes on Saturday, the only Nicholls athlete to do so on the day, taking third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.37, while taking seventh in the 100-meter hurdles later on in 14.32 seconds.
The Colonels will be back in action on April 13, competing in the Mississippi Open hosted by the University of Mississippi.
