BATON ROUGE, La. - After already hauling in a string of awards since the end of the season, Nicholls State University javelin thrower Jaimee Springer can add one more to the list as she was named to the All-Louisiana Track and Field team the Louisiana Sports Writers Association released today.

Springer, who was most recently named the 2013 Southland Conference Track and Field Student Athlete of the Year, made the team after having one of the top three marks in the state of Louisiana among all NCAA and NAIA competitors. The Lloydminster, Alberta native's toss of 157 feet, six inches at the NCAA East Preliminary meet was second best in the state behind Northwestern State's Jessica Talley by just three inches.

Just this season alone, Springer won her first conference individual title, her third All-Southland honor, became the second athlete ever to qualify for the national championships and finished the season 16th in the nation at the NCAA Championships.
