Brittany Marcet and Taylor Terrio led Nicholls at the plate with three hits each. Terrio pushed her hitting streak to 11 games and on-base streak to 20 after singling in the game-winning run in the seventh in game two.

In the opener, Nicholls (19-33, 9-15) and Central Arkansas (23-32, 12-13) battled to a 1-1 tie after seven innings before Sarah Bigej ended the game with a two-run walk off home run.

Hannah Haydel (6-14) had a solid effort in the circle, striking out four while giving up three earned runs on eight hits in seven plus innings. Kylee Studioso earned the win, tossing eight innings with 16 strikeouts.

UCA wasted no time in taking the lead, scoring in the opening frame after two hits and a sacrifice fly in the first three batters.  Neither team scored over the next four innings before the Colonel tied the game in the sixth.

Danielle Phillips started the rally with a one-out single, followed by a base knock by Marcet. With two down, Phillips was able to score on an error to even the score at 1-1.

UCA started its eighth inning with a double by Sam Forrest. Bigej then sent a deep fly ball to right center and the wind carried it out of the park for the walkoff victory.

For the night cap, the game was tied again late, but a leadoff double in the seventh by Haley Stevenson led to Terrio's RBI infield single. In the bottom half, Jackie Johnson ran into trouble with runners in scoring position with two down, but she forced a flyout to end the game, giving Nicholls a 2-1 win for the split.

Nicholls had nine hits, getting two each from Stevenson and Brooke Morris. Stevenson gave the Colonels an early 1-0 lead in the second, driving in Morgan Wilson who laced a two-out triple to right. UCA cracked the scoring column in the fifth when Ashley Boswell hit a solo shot to center.

Johnson (10-15) pitched all seven innings, striking out six while allowing six hits. Studioso (15-11) pitched all 15 innings for the Sugar Bears on Saturday, allowing nine hits in game two and struck out four.
