Houston, Texas – The Nicholls State University cross country team travels to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Invitational on Saturday.
The Colonels had a strong outing at the University of New Orleans to open the season with the relay team of
Tessni Carruthers and
Ashley Johnson taking Second Place. Last weekend the team competed at the Rice Invitation in Houston, with a number of runners improving on their times.
Freshman
Brendon Bowser led the Nicholls men at Rice with a time of 18:40, while Carruthers ran a 14:13, finishing 15
th out of 140 female competitors. Johnson had the second-highest finish for the women with a time of 15:45.
The LSU Invitational will take place at at Highland Road Park on Sept. 20. The women will begin at 8:05 a.m. CDT, and the men will start shortly behind at 9:15 a.m. as each will compete on the 5k course.
