THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University men's and women's cross-country teams had a strong showing in the 8th Annual Nicholls XC Invitational Presented by Thibodaux Regional Health Systems at Nicholls Farm on Saturday morning.
Nicholls women's squad won the women's 5k as they had six runners finish within the top 15.
Issy Rivault led the way as she placed fourth with a time of 19:03.9.
Lotte Aerts posted a personal-best time of 19:56.8 to place seventh.
Emelia Hope (20:13.6),
Emily Ward (20:21.2),
Kalynn Beacom (20:40.4), and
Gabriella O'Neal (21:33.1) placed eighth, ninth, 11th and 13th, respectively.
The Colonels men's unit finished second in the team standings of the men's 4-mile race with six runners within the top 20.
Mason Heffernan led the way as he placed seventh with a time of 21:29.1 while
Brady Sins placed 10th with a time of 22:27.3.
Preston Mire (23:03.8), Jack Kosmer (23:12.8),
William Nizzo (23:17.1),
Alex Hartline (23:19.8), and
Elvin Lobo (23:32) finished 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, and 20th, respectively.
